Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from mouse Opsin 1 (green-sensitive opsin, M opsin, Opn1mw, Gcp) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in rat.

Description
FUNCTION: Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal. May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expresssed in cone photoreceptor cells. Also known as: Green-sensitive opsin, green cone photoreceptor pigment, medium wavelength-sensitive cone opsin, M opsin, Opsin 1, Gcp.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for Opn1mw.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
