Immunogen A synthetic peptide from mouse Opsin 1 (green-sensitive opsin, M opsin, Opn1mw, Gcp) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat.

Background Function: Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal. May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light.
