Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the internal region of human OPSB (blue sensitive opsin, S opsin, BOP, OPN1SW, BCP, CBT) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in many species including mouse, rat, guinea pig and chicken.

Description
FUNCTION: Visual pigments are the light-absorbing molecules that mediate vision. They consist of an apoprotein, opsin, covalently linked to cis-retinal. May increase spectral sensitivity in dim light. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expresssed in cone photoreceptor cells. Also known as: Blue-sensitive opsin, BOP, blue cone photoreceptor pigment, OPN1SW, BCP, CBT, short wavelength-sensitive cone opsin, S opsin.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for OPSB.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
