Immunogen A synthetic peptide from aa region 200-250 of human Opsin 5 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and mouse.

Background Opsins are members of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor superfamily. This opsin gene is expressed in the eye, brain, testes, and spinal cord. This gene belongs to the seven-exon subfamily of mammalian opsin genes that includes peropsin (RRH) and retinal G protein coupled receptor (RGR). Like these other seven-exon opsin genes, this gene may encode a protein with photoisomerase activity. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Multi-pass membrane protein.
Tissue specificity: Detected in the eye, testis, brain, retina and cell lines derived from neural retina. Also known as: Opsin-5, neuropsin, G-protein coupled receptor 136, G-protein coupled receptor PGR12, OPN5, opsin 5, GPR136, TMEM13.
Application Notes A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Not yet tested in other applications.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.

Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
