Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from the cytoplasmic domain of mouse P2X2 (P2RX2, P2X purinoceptor 2, Purinergic receptor, ATP receptor) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in human, guinea pig and rat.

Description
FUNCTION: Binding of this ligand gated ion channel to ATP mediates synaptic transmission between neurons and from neurons to smooth muscle. Subcellular location: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Tissue specificity: High levels in pituitary and vas deferens. Lower extent in spinal cord, bladder, brain, adrenal, testis, sensory epithelia from the inner ear. Also known as: P2RX2, P2X purinoceptor 2, Purinergic receptor, ATP receptor.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for P2RX2.
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
