Additional Information

Alternative name peropsin (retinal pigment epithelium derived rhodopsin homolog, OPSX, RRH)
Swiss-Prot O14718
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from human peropsin (retinal pigment epithelium derived rhodopsin homolog, OPSX, RRH) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description Opsins are members of the guanine nucleotide-binding protein (G protein)-coupled receptor superfamily. This gene belongs to the seven-exon subfamily of mammalian opsin genes that includes opsin 5 and retinal G protein coupled receptor. FUNCTION: May play a role in rpe physiology either by detecting light directly or by monitoring the concentration of retinoids or other photoreceptor-derived compounds. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Found only in the eye, where it is localized to the retinal pigment epithelium (RPE). In the RPE, it is localized to the microvilli that surround the photoreceptor outer segments. Also known as: RRH, visual pigment-like receptor peropsin.
Specificity Appears to be specific for OPSX.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
