Saporin is a ribosome-inactivating protein of type 1, inhibits protein synthesis in animal cells. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Endohydrolysis of the N-glycosidic bond at one specific adenosine on the 28S rRNA. Also known as: Common soapwort.
