Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal region of human SOD3 (Superoxide dismutase 3, SODE) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Specificity Appears to be specific for SOD3.
Purity whole serum
Background Function: Protect the extracellular space from toxic effect of reactive oxygen intermediates by converting superoxide radicals into hydrogen peroxide and oxygen.
Catalytic activity: 2 superoxide + 2 H(+) = O(2) + H(2)O(2).
Tissue specificity: Expressed in blood vessels, heart, lungs, kidney and placenta. Major SOD isoenzyme in extracellular fluids such as plasma, lymph and synovial fluid.
Subcellular location: Secreted › extracellular space. Note: 99% of EC-SOD is anchored to heparan sulfate proteoglycans in the tissue interstitium, and 1% is located in the vasculature in equilibrium between the plasma and the endothelium. Also known as: Superoxide dismutase 3, SODE, SOD E.

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
