Additional Information

Alternative name Sodium channel protein type 10 subunitalpha (SCN10A, Nav1.8) (n-terminal region)
Swiss-Prot Q9Y5Y9
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the n-terminal region of human Sodium channel protein type 10 subunit alpha (SCN10A, Nav1.8) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: This protein mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a sodium-selective channel through which sodium ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. It is a tetrodotoxin-resistant sodium channel isoform. Its electrophysiological properties vary depending on the type of the associated beta subunits (in vitro). Plays a role in neuropathic pain mechanisms. Tissue specificity: Expressed in the dorsal root ganglia and sciatic nerve. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Note: It can be translocated to the extracellular membrane through association with S100A10. Also known as: Sodium channel protein type X subunit alpha, Voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nav1.8, Peripheral nerve sodium channel 3, hPN3, SCN10A, PN3.
Specificity Appears to be specific for SCN10A.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
