Description
FUNCTION: Mediates the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. Assuming opened or closed conformations in response to the voltage difference across the membrane, the protein forms a sodium-selective channel through which Na+ ions may pass in accordance with their electrochemical gradient. Tissue specificity: Heart and uterus. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Also known as: Sodium channel protein type VII subunit alpha, Putative voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nax, Sodium channel protein cardiac and skeletal muscle subunit alpha, SCN7A, SCN6A, Nax.
Specificity
Appears to be specific for SCN7A (also known as SCN6A).
Application Notes
IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.

Storage
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
