    Western Blotting (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC)
    Specificity
    Specific for STIM1.
    Immunogen
A synthetic peptide from aa region 50-100 of extracellular domain of human STIM1 conjugated to blue carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous in rat and mouse.

  • Application Notes
    A concentration of 10-50 µg/ml is recommended.
The optimal concentration should be determined by the end user. Not tested in other applications.
    Restrictions
    For Research Use only
  • Format
    Lyophilized
    Reconstitution
Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
    Handling Advice
    Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
    Storage
    4 °C/-20 °C
    Storage Comment
Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

    Background
Function: Plays a role in mediating Ca2+ influx following depletion of intracellular Ca2+ stores. Acts as Ca2+ sensor in the endoplasmic reticulum via its EF-hand domain. Upon Ca2+ depletion, translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the plasma membrane where it activates the Ca2+ release-activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channel subunit, TMEM142A/ORAI1.
Subcellular location: Cell membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein. Note: Translocates from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cell membrane in response to a depletion of intracellular calcium.
Tissue specificity: Ubiquitously expressed in various human primary cells and tumor cell lines. Also known as: STIM1, GOK.
    Pathways
    TCR Signaling, BCR Signaling
