Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the internal region of human Syntaxin-binding protein 1 (STXB1, p67, N-Sec1, Unc-18A, Unc-18-1, rbSec1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the antigen. The peptide is homologous with the corresponding sequence in rat, mouse, chicken and monkey.

Background Function: May participate in the regulation of synaptic vesicle docking and fusion, possibly through interaction with GTP-binding proteins. Essential for neurotransmission and binds syntaxin, a component of the synaptic vesicle fusion machinery probably in a 1:1 ratio. Can interact with syntaxins 1, 2, and 3 but not syntaxin 4. May play a role in determining the specificity of intracellular fusion reactions. Also known as: STXB1, p67, N-Sec1, Unc-18A, Unc-18-1, rbSec1.
Application Notes A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Not yet tested in other applications.

Reconstitution Reconstitute in 500 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.

Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
