Additional Information

Alternative name taste receptor, type 2, member 16 (TAS2R16, T2R16) (cytoplasmic domain)
Swiss-Prot Q9JKU0
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from a cytoplasmic domain of rat taste receptor, type 2, member 16 (TAS2R16, T2R16) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Gustducin-coupled receptor implicated in the perception of bitter compounds in the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract. Signals through PLCB2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5. Tissue specificity: Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelium and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. Expressed in the antrum and fundus (part of the stomach), duodenum and in gastric endocrine cells. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein.<||a href="http://www.enzim.hu/hmmtop1.1/server/submit.html"><||/a> Also known as: T2R16, T2R18, T2R3, Tas2r18, Tas2r3, Tas2r16, T2R16.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TAS2R16.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
