Additional Information
| Alternative name | taste receptor, type 2, member 4 (Tas2r4, T2R4) |
| UniProt | Q9JKT3 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from a cytoplasmic domain of mouse taste receptor, type 2, member 4 (Tas2r4, T2R4) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Gustducin-coupled receptor for denatonium and N(6)-propyl-2-thiouracil implicated in the perception of bitter compounds in the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract. Signals through PLCB2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5. SUBUNIT: Forms heterodimers with TAS1R3. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelium and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. Expressed in 15% taste bud cells in circumvallate and foliate papillae but only in 2% in fungiform papillae.<||a href="http://www.enzim.hu/hmmtop1.1/server/submit.html" /> Also known as: Tas2r4, Tas2r108, Tas2r8, T2R4, Taste receptor type 2 member 8, TA2R4. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for TAS2R4. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
