Additional Information
| Alternative name | taste receptor, type 2, member 46 (TAS2R46, T2R46, T2R54) |
| UniProt | P59540 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from human taste receptor, type 2, member 46 (TAS2R46, T2R46, T2R54) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antibodies generated using this antigen is expected to also recognise gene products of TAS2R43, TAS2R44, TAS2R47 and TAS2R49. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and is gustducin-linked. May play a role in sensing the chemical composition of the gastrointestinal content. The activity of this receptor may stimulate alpha gustducin, mediate PLC-beta-2 activation and lead to the gating of TRPM5. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. MISCELLANEOUS: Most taste cells may be activated by a limited number of bitter compounds; individual taste cells can discriminate among bitter stimuli.<||a href="http://www.enzim.hu/hmmtop1.1/server/submit.html" ><||/a> Also known as: Taste receptor type 2 member 46, T2R54, TAS2R46, MGC134865. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for TAS2R46 ( and also TAS2R43, TAS2R44, TAS2R47 and TAS2R49. See the Immunogen). |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
