Additional Information

Alternative name taste receptor, type 2, member 9 (TAS2R9, TA2R9, T2R9, TRB6)
UniProt Q9NYW1
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of human taste receptor, type 2, member 9 (TAS2R9, TA2R9, T2R9, TRB6) conjugated to immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description This gene product belongs to the family of candidate taste receptors that are members of the G-protein-coupled receptor superfamily. These proteins are specifically expressed in the taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelia. They are organized in the genome in clusters and are genetically linked to loci that influence bitter perception in mice and humans. In functional expression studies, they respond to bitter tastants. This gene maps to the taste receptor gene cluster on chromosome 12p13. FUNCTION: Gustducin-coupled receptor implicated in the perception of bitter compounds in the oral cavity and the gastrointestinal tract. Signals through PLCB2 and the calcium-regulated cation channel TRPM5. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and palate epithelium and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. MISCELLANEOUS: Several bitter taste receptors are expressed in a single taste receptor cell. Also known as: Taste receptor type 2 member 9, T2R9, Taste receptor family B member 6, TRB6.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TAS2R9.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
