Additional Information

Alternative name Telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) (n-terminal)
Swiss-Prot O14746
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from N-terminal of human Telomerase reverse transcriptase (HEST2, TP2, TERT, EST2, TCS1, TRT) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein enzyme essential for the replication of chromosome termini in most eukaryotes. It elongates telomeres. It is a reverse transcriptase that adds simple sequence repeats to chromosome ends by copying a template sequence within the RNA component of the enzyme. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: Deoxynucleoside triphosphate + DNA(n) = diphosphate + DNA(n+1). SUBUNIT: Component of the telomerase ribonucleoprotein complex at least composed of TEP1, EST1A, POT1 and a telomerase RNA template component (TER). Interacts with PINX1 and MCRS1. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Nucleus. Telomere. DISEASE: Activation of telomerase has been implicated in cell immortalization and cancer cell pathogenesis. Also known as: Telomerase catalytic subunit, HEST2, Telomerase-associated protein 2, HEST2, TP2, TERT, EST2, TCS1, TRT.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TERT.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
