Additional Information

Alternative name trace amine-associated receptor 8 (TAAR8, TAR5)
UniProt Q969N4
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of human TAAR8 conjugated to immunugenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The peptide shares 91.6% identity with the corresponding sequence derived from human TAAR9, mouse TARR9, TAAR8a, b, c, TARR7a, b, e, f, rat TARR8a, b, c, TARR7a, b, c, e, g, h
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Orphan receptor. Could be a receptor fortrace amines.trace amines are biogenic amines present in very low levels in mammalian tissues. Although sometrace amines have clearly defined roles as neurotransmitters in invertebrates, the extent to which they function as true neurotransmitters in vertebrates has remained speculative.trace amines are likely to be involved in a variety of physiological functions that have yet to be fully understood. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Expressed in kidney and amygdala. Not expressed in other tissues or brain regions tested. Also known as: TAAR8, TaR-8,trace amine receptor 8, G-protein coupled receptor 102,trace amine receptor 5, GPR102, TA5, TAR5, TRAR5.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TAAR8.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
