Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the region around (and including) phospho Y816 site of rat TrkB (BDNF/NT-3 growth factors receptor, TrkB tyrosine kinase, Trk-B) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in human and mouse.
Specificity Specific for TrkB.
Purification Whole serum
Alternative Name TrkB (NTRK2 Antibody Abstract)
Background Function: Receptor for brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), neurotrophin-3 and neurotrophin-4/5 but not nerve growth factor (NGF). Involved in the development and/or maintenance of the nervous system. This is a tyrosine-protein kinase receptor. Known substrates for the TRK receptors are SHC1, PI-3 kinase, and PLC-gamma-1.
Catalytic activity: ATP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine = ADP + a [protein]-L-tyrosine phosphate.
Subunit: Exists in a dynamic equilibrium between monomeric (low affinity) and dimeric (high affinity) structures. Binds SH2B2. Interacts with SQSTM1 and ARMS.
Subcellular location: Membrane, Single-pass type I membrane protein. Also known as: Neurotrophic tyrosine kinase receptor type 2, TrkB tyrosine kinase, GP145-TrkB/GP95-TrkB, Trk-B, BDNF/NT-3 growth factors receptor.
Research Area Cancer
Pathways RTK Signaling, Neurotrophin Signaling Pathway, cAMP Metabolic Process
Application Notes A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended.
The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. This antibody is also likely to recognise the unphosphorylated form.
Restrictions For Research Use only
Format Lyophilized
Reconstitution Reconstitute in 100 µL of sterile water. Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material.
Handling Advice Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Storage 4 °C/-20 °C
Storage Comment Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Expiry Date 12 months
