Additional Information
| Alternative name | TRPM6 (CHAK2, HSH, HMGX, HOMG, HOMG1) |
| UniProt | Q8CIR4 |
| Immunogen | A synthetic peptide from the 1t cytoplasmic loop of mouse TRPM6 (CHAK2, HSH, HMGX, HOMG, HOMG1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. |
| Format | Lyophilized |
| Description | FUNCTION: Essential ion channel and serine/threonine-protein kinase. Crucial for magnesium homeostasis. Has an important role in epithelial magnesium transport and in the active magnesium absorption in the gut and kidney. Isoforms of the type M6-kinase lack the ion channel region. CATALYTIC ACTIVITY: ATP + a protein = ADP + a phosphoprotein. SUBUNIT: Forms heterodimers with TRPM7. TRPM6 requires the presence of TRPM7 to be targeted to the cell membrane (in HEK 293 cells). SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Highly expressed in kidney and colon. Isoform TRPM6a and isoform TRPM6b, are coexpressed with TRPM7 in kidney, and testis, and are also found in several cell lines of lung origin. Isoform TRPM6c is detected only in testis and in H510 small cell lung carcinoma cells. Also known as: Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily M member 6, channel kinase 2, melastatin-related TRP cation channel 6, CHAK2, HSH, HMGX, HOMG, HOMG1. |
| Specificity | Appears to be specific for TRPM6. |
Application Details
| Application Notes | IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications. |
| Purity | whole serum |
| Storage | Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles. |
