Additional Information

Alternative name TRPV1 (VR1, capsaicin receptor, vanilloid receptor 1) (1t extracellular loop)
Swiss-Prot O35433
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the 1t extracellular loop of rat TRPV1 (VR1, capsaicin receptor, vanilloid receptor 1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel involved in detection of noxious chemical and thermal stimuli. Seems to mediate proton influx and may be involved in intracellular acidosis in nociceptive neurons. May be involved in mediation of inflammatory pain and hyperalgesia. Sensitized by a phosphatidylinositol second messenger system activated by receptor tyrosine kinases, which involves PKC isozymes and PCL. Activation by vanilloids, like capsaicin, and temperatures higher than 42 degrees Celsius, exhibits a time- and Ca(2+)-dependent outward rectification, followed by a long-lasting refractory state. Mild extracellular acidic pH (6.5) potentiates channel activation by noxious heat and vanilloids, whereas acidic conditions (pH Also known as: Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 1, TrpV1, osm-9-like TRP channel 1, OTRPC1, Vanilloid receptor 1, Vanilloid receptor type 1-like, Capsaicin receptor, transient receptor potential cation channel, subfamily V, member 1, Vr1, Vr1l1, VR.5'sv.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TRPV1.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
