Additional Information

Alternative name TRPV2 (VRL-1)
UniProt Q9WUD2
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the 3d extracellular loop of rat TRPV2 (VRL-1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Calcium-permeable, non-selective cation channel with an outward rectification. Seems to be regulated, at least in part, by growth factors, like IGF1, PDGF and morphogenetic neuropeptide/head activator. May transduce physical stimuli in mast cells. Activated by temperatures higher than 52 degrees Celsius; is not activated by vanilloids and acidic pH. SUBUNIT: Homotetramer (Probable). Interacts with a cAMP-dependent protein kinase type II regulatory subunit (PRKAR2A or PRKAR2B) and ACBD3. Interacts with RGA. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Cytoplasm. Melanosome. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Ubiquitously expressed. Expressed in dorsal root ganglia, trigeminal ganglia, spinal chord (Lissauer's tract, dorsal horn and dorsal columns) (at protein level). PTM: N-glycosylated. PTM: Phosphorylated by PKA. SIMILARITY: Belongs to the transient receptor family, TrpV subfamily. SIMILARITY: Contains 3 ANK repeats. Also known as: Transient receptor potential cation channel subfamily V member 2, TrpV2, osm-9-like TRP channel 2, OTRPC2, Vanilloid receptor-like protein 1, VRL-1, Stretch-activated channel 2B, Sac2b, Vrl1, MGC105451.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TRPV2.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
