Additional Information

Alternative name TRPV6 (4th cytoplasmic loop)
Swiss-Prot Q9H1D0
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the 4th cytoplasmic loop of human TRPV6 conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description Calcium-permeable channels, such as TRPV6, participate in neurotransmission, muscle contraction, and exocytosis by providing calcium as an intracellular second messenger. Depending on the tissue, transcellular calcium transport may be regulated by vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), or calcitonin (CALCA) FUNCTION: Calcium selective cation channel probably involved in Ca(2+) uptake in various tissues, including Ca(2+) reabsorption in intestine. The channel is activated by low internal calcium level, probably including intracellular calcium store depletion, and the current exhibits an inward rectification. Inactivation includes both, a rapid Ca(2+)-dependent and a slower Ca(2+)-calmodulin-dependent mechanism, the latter may be regulated by phosphorylation. In vitro, is slowly inhibited by Mg(2+) in a voltage-independent manner. Heteromeric assembly with TRPV5 seems to modify channel properties. TRPV5-TRPV6 heteromultimeric concatemers exhibit voltage-dependent gating. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. Also known as: TrpV6, epithelial calcium channel 2, ECaC2, calcium transport protein 1, CaT1, CaT-like, CaT-L.
Specificity Appears to be specific for TRPV6.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1: 300 to 1: 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
Restrictions For Research Use only
