Additional Information

Alternative name Vesicle-associated membrane protein 7 (VAMP-7, VAMP7, SYBL1)
UniProt P51809
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from human Vesicle-associated membrane protein 7 (VAMP-7, VAMP7, SYBL1) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen. The antigen is homologous in many species including rat, mouse, chimpanzee and xenopus.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Involved in the targeting and/or fusion of transport vesicles to their target membrane during transport of proteins from the early endosome to the lysosome. Required for heterotypic fusion of late endosomes with lysosomes and homotypic lysosomal fusion. Required for calcium regulated lysosomal exocytosis. Involved in the export of chylomicrons from the endoplasmic reticulum to the cis Golgi. Required for exocytosis of mediators during eosinophil and neutrophil degranulation, and target cell killing by natural killer cells. Required for focal exocytosis of late endocytic vesicles during phagosome formation. SUBUNIT: Component of the SNARE complex composed of STX4,SNAP23 and VAMP7 that binds SYT7 during lysosomal exocytosis. Component of the SNARE complex composed of STX7, STX8, VAMP7 and VTI1B that is required for heterotypic fusion of late endosomes with lysosomes in liver cells. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasmic vesicle, secretory vesicle membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Late endosome membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Lysosome membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Endoplasmic reticulum membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. Cytoplasmic vesicle, phagosome membrane; Single-pass type IV membrane protein. TISSUE SPECIFICITY: Detected in all tissues tested. Also known as: Vesicle-associated membrane protein 7, VAMP7, SYBL1, VAMP-7, Synaptobrevin-like protein 1, Tetanus-insensitive VAMP, Ti-VAMP.
Specificity Appears to be specific for VAMP7.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not yet tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
