Additional Information

Alternative name vomeronasal type-1 receptor B3 (VN1B3, V1rb3, VN5, pheromone receptor VN5)
Swiss-Prot Q9EP93
Immunogen A synthetic peptide as a part of mouse vomeronasal type-1 receptor B3 (VN1B3, V1rb3, VN5, pheromone receptor VN5) conjugated to immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Putative pheromone receptor implicated in the regulation of social and reproductive behavior. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cell membrane; Multi-pass membrane protein. MISCELLANEOUS: Mice lacking all but one V1RA and V1RB gene (12% of the V1R repertoire) show a lack of chemosensory response to a subset of known pheromonal ligands and changes in maternal aggression as well as male reproductive behavior. NOTE: This gene was found (PubMed:11752409) to lack a conserved putative promoter and, therefore, may not be transcribed. Nevertheless, this product (OSR00234W) is a high titre antibody. Tested by ELISA, it specifically recognizes the immunising peptide. It would be very interesting to see whether or not the protein is indeed expressed. While we are investigating this, contact us for more details. Specificity Appears to be specific for VN1B3.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB (potential). This is a high titre antibody. Tested by ELISA, it specifically recognizes the immunising peptide. It would be very interesting to see whether or not the protein is indeed expressed. While we are investigating this, contact us for more details.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
