Additional Information

Alternative name VTA1 (Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein VTA1 homolog)
UniProt Q9NP79
Immunogen A synthetic peptide from the internal region of human VTA1 (Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein VTA1 homolog) conjugated to an immunogenic carrier protein was used as the immunogen.
Format Lyophilized
Description FUNCTION: Involved in the endosomal multivesicular bodies (MVB) pathway. MVBs contain intraluminal vesicles (ILVs) that are generated by invagination and scission from the limiting membrane of the endosome and mostly are delivered to lysosomes enabling degradation of membrane proteins, such as stimulated growth factor receptors, lysosomal enzymes and lipids. Thought to be a cofactor of VPS4A/B, which catalyzes disassembles membrane-associated ESCRT-III assemblies. Involved in the sorting and down-regulation of EGFR. Involved in HIV-1 budding. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Cytoplasm. Endosome membrane; Peripheral membrane protein Also known as: Vacuolar protein sorting-associated protein VTA1 homolog, Dopamine-responsive protein DRG-1, SKD1 binding protein 1, SBP1, LYST-interacting protein 5, LIP5.
Specificity Appears to be specific for VTA1.

Application Details

Application Notes IHC, WB. A dilution of 1 : 300 to 1 : 2000 is recommended. The optimal dilution should be determined by the end user. Not tested in other applications.
Purity whole serum
Storage Maintain the lyophilised/reconstituted antibodies frozen at -20°C for long term storage and refrigerated at 2-8°C for a shorter term. When reconstituting, glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability. Avoid freeze and thaw cycles.
