Immunogen This antibody is generated from rabbits immunized with a KLH conjugated synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acid residues surrounding T16 of human Desmin.
Isotype Ig
Specificity This antibody detects Desmin. Predicted to cross react with Mouse (100 % Antigen Homology).
Purification Saturated Ammonium Sulfate (SAS) precipitation followed by dialysis against PBS.
Alternative Name Desmin (DES Antibody Abstract)
Background Desmin is a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament. Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane. Mutations in the gene encoding desmin are associated with desmin-related myopathy, a familial cardiac and skeletal myopathy (CSM), and with distal myopathies.Synonyms: DES
Molecular Weight 53536 Da
Gene ID 1674, 9606
UniProt P17661
Research Area Cancer, Cytoskeleton
Application Notes ELISA: 1/1,000. Western Blot: 1/50-1/100. Immunohistochemistry: 1/10-1/50.
Other applications not tested.
