Description
|
Activation-induced cytidine deaminase (AID) is an RNA-editing deaminase involved in somatic hypermutation, gene conversion, and class-switch recombination. Required for several crucial steps of B-cell terminal differentiation necessary for efficient antibody responses. AID deficiency causes the autosomal recessive form of the Hyper-IgM syndrome. Expression of AID is restricted to stimulated B lymphocytes. Synonyms: (alpha-1 antiproteinase, antitrypsin),member 12 ,OL-64
