Description
Gene: Glycogen Phosphorylase
Specificity
LS-CB3063 detects glycogen phosphorylase BB (GPBB), a regulatory enzyme which catalyses the rate-determining step in glycogen degradation. In unstable angina, rapid rises in plasma concentrations of GPBB have been observed. Mammalian glycogen phosphorylase is found as three major isozymes including muscle (GPMM), liver (GPLL), and brain/heart (GPBB), which can be distinguished by their structural and functional properties as well as by the tissues in which they are expressed. LS-B3063 also reacts with GPMM.
