Description
GPBAR1/TGR5 is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family (GPCRs, or GPRs) whichcontain 7 transmembrane domains and transduce extracellular signals throughheterotrimeric G proteins. GPCR TGR5 is a receptor for bile acids. Bile acid-binding inducesits internalization, activation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase and intracellularcAMP production. It may be involved in the suppression of macrophage functions by bileacids.

Specificity
This antibody recognizes G Protein-Coupled Receptor BG37/TGR5 (GPBAR1). Species Reactivity: Tested: Human. Expected from sequence similarity: Chimpanzee, Horse, Monkey and Mouse.
Application Notes
Western Blot: 2-4 µg/ml. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 10 µg/ml. This antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigenretrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides wereincubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkalinephosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. The stained slides were evaluated by apathologist to confirm staining specificity. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
