It plays an important role in the growth anddevelopment of cells via the mechanisms of control of tissue architecture and themaintenance of tissue integrity. Numerous studies have demonstrated that reductionand/or loss of Ecadherin expression in carcinomas correlates positively with the potentialof these tumors for invasion and metastasis. |
