Description
CCR8 encodes a member of the beta chemokine receptor family, which is predicted to be aseven transmembrane protein similar to G protein-coupled receptors. Chemokines andtheir receptors are important for the migration of various cell types into the inflammatorysites. This receptor protein preferentially expresses in the thymus. I-309, thymusactivation-regulated cytokine (TARC) and macrophage inflammatory protein-1 beta (MIP1beta) have been identified as ligands of this receptor. Studies of this receptor and itsligands suggested its role in regulation of monocyte chemotaxis and thymic cell apoptosis. More specifically, this receptor may contribute to the proper positioning of activated T cellswithin the antigenic challenge sites and specialized areas of lymphoid tissues. This gene islocated at the chemokine receptor gene cluster region. CCR8 expression has been reportedin spleen and thymus, natural-killer cells, monocytes, and T cells, and at lower levels inperipheral blood leukocytes.

Application Notes
Western blot: (0.5-2 µg/ml for 2 hrs at RT). Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections (1: 25, 10 min at RT), staining of formalin-fixedtissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followedby cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive control: Jurkat cells, Thymus. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
