Description
TIMPs (Tissue Inhibitors of MetalloProteinases) form tight inhibitory complexes with MMPswhich are involved in matrix degradation and hence, in tumor invasiveness andmetastasis. TIMPs inhibit the proteolytic invasiveness of tumor cells and normal placentaltrophoblast cells which is indicative of their therapeutical potential in treating invasiveand metastatic cancers.
Specificity
This antibody reacts to TIMP-3. Species: Human, Rabbit, Baboon. Others not tested.
Application Notes
Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: 1/70 for 10 min at RT, Staining offormalin-fixed tissues requires boiling tissue sections in 10mM citrate buffer, pH 6.0 for 10min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min. Positive Control: Placenta or Breast carcinomaOther applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
