Description
|
BTN1A1 (Butyrophilin) is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily, BTN/MOG family. Itis the major protein associated with fat droplets in the milk. It may act as a specificmembrane-associated receptor for the association of cytoplasmic droplets with the apicalplasma membrane.

Specificity
|
The antiserum reacts specifically with butyrophilin, a unique 67 kD polypeptide presentonly in lactating mammary gland epithelium and in the milk fat globule membrane (MFGM). No cross-reaction with other MFGM proteins. Species: Human, Mouse, Rat, Bovine. Others not tested.

Immunohistochemistry on frozen and paraffin sections: 1/100 - 1/200. Western Blot: 1/2000. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
