Characteristics
100 ug affinity purified rabbit anti-BLAME (B Lymphocyte Activator Macrophage Expressed, also called Slam family member 8, SLAM-8, SLAMF8, etc.) polyclonal antibody. Reacts with human/mouse/rat. Detects ~35 kDa BLAME in Western blot analysis. A ~28 kDa cleaved fragment and a ~70 kDa glycosylated BLAME can also be detected. Blocking peptide (Cat.# 3895BP-50) is available separately.

Description
BLAME (B Lymphocyte Activator Macrophage Expressed) also called SLAMF8. BLAME is a type I transmembrane protein that belongs to the CD2 family of Ig superfamily receptors. BLAME is mostly expressed on macrophages and dendritic cells.

Application Notes
Western blotting (0.5-4 µg/ml). However, the optimal conditions should be determined individually. The antibody recognizes ~35 kDa BLAME in Western blot analysis. A 28 kDa cleaved fragment and a 70 kDa glycosylated BLAME can also be detected. Reactivity to other species has not been tested.
