Specificity
A20 specifically reacts with intact adeno-associated virus particles, empty and fullcapsids. Recognizes a conformational epitope of assembled capsids, not present indenatured capsid proteins and native but unassembled capsid proteins. Species: Human, Monkey. Others not tested.

Application Notes
Immunofluorescence: Overnight at 2-8°C. Immunohistochemistry: Overnight at 2-8°C. ELISA: 1/20, use PBS with 0.05% Tween 20, 1 h at 37°C. The antibody cannot be used for immunoblotting. Epitope mapping experiments (Wobus et al. , see below) identified four immunoreactive(discontinous) regions. The major reaction was attributed to sequence aa 369 to aa378 ofAAV-2 capsids. The antibody is also useful for neutralizing experiments. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
