Description

Gene: Rab3

Specificity
Recognizes Rab3, a group of closely related GTP-binding proteins (Rab3A, Rab3B, Rab3C and Rab3D) involved in regulating membrane traffic. Rab3 proteins are expressed in high levels in the brain and endocrine tissues but are also found elsewhere. They are localized on exocytic vesicles and in the brain they cycle on and off synaptic vesicles in parallel with the release of neurotransmitters. Many functions have been proposed for the Rab3 proteins, from fusion to docking and the biogenesis of vesicles. They are thought to play an important role in presynaptic vesicle trafficking and priming Predicted Reactivities: Xenopus laevis,Human,Mouse (Murine).
