Description
Mucin glucoprotein is a sialyl Lewis a structure which is synthesized from type 1 bloodgroup precursor chains and is present in individuals expressing the Lewis a and/or Lewis bblood group antigens. In normal tissues, Sialyl Lewis a antigen is present in ductalepithelium of the breast, kidney, salivary gland, and sweat glands. Its expression is greatlyenhanced in serum as well as in the majority of tumor cells in gastrointestinal (GI)carcinomas.
Specificity
This antibody reacts with the Sialyl Lewis a antigen (CA 19-9). Species Reactivity: Tested: Human.
Application Notes
Suitable for use in ELISA, IRMA and Immunohistochemistry (Frozen and Paraffin Sections). Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections do not require protease pre-treatment orantigen retrieval. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
