Description
GTP binding proteins (G proteins) play a critical role in signal transduction by couplingreceptors to effectors. The intracellular consequences of G protein activation includesecond messenger generation, protein phosphorylation, ion channel activation, geneinduction, cell growth, and differentiation. Gi belongs to the pertussis toxin sensitive Gproteins. Gi consists of three different subtypes of alpha subunits (alpha i1, alpha i2 andalpha i3).
Specificity
Recognizes Rat Gai1. Does not cross-react with Transducin, Gao, Gai2, Gai3, or Gas. ADP-ribosylation of ai1proteins does not alter the reactivity. Cellular Localization: Cell membrane. Species Reactivity: Tested: Rat. Expected from sequence similarity: Bovine, Guinea pig, Human and Mouse.

Application Notes
Western blot. Immunohistochemistry on Paraffin Sections: 1/50. This antibody was validated for use in immunohistochemistry on a panel of 21formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) human tissues after heat induced antigenretrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides wereincubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by AlkalinePhosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen. Other applications not tested. Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.
