Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to a region within amino acids 854 and 916 of OSBP2
Isotype IgG
Predicted Reactivity Human (100%), Mouse (92%), Rat (92%), Bovine (92%)
Characteristics Cellular Localization: Membrane, Peripheral membrane protein
Purification Purified by antigen-affinity chromatography..
Alternative Name OSBP2 (OSBP2 Antibody Abstract)
Background Oxysterols are byproducts of cholesterol that can have cytotoxic effects on many cell types. The membrane-bound protein encoded by this gene contains a pleckstrin homology (PH) domain and an oxysterol-binding region. It binds oxysterols such as 7-ketocholesterol and may inhibit their cytotoxicity. Alternate transcriptional splice variants have been observed but have not been fully characterized. [provided by RefSeq]
