  • Application Notes
Peptide ELISA: 1/64000. Western blot: Approx 35 kDa band observed in human ovary and human testes lysates(calculated MW of 33.5 kDa according to NP_001342.2). Recommended concentration: 0.1 - 0.3 μg/mL. Immunohistochemistry on paraffin sections: Mouse Testis shows cytoplasm staining ofspermatogonia. Additional staining is observed in the cytoplasm of elongatng spermatidsbut this additional staining is not in agreement with results obtained by another antibody(Ruggiuet al, Nature.1997 Sep 4,389(6646): 73-7. PMID: 9288969). Data kindly provided by J. S. Martins, MRC, Edinburgh, UK. Recommended concentration: 1 - 3 μg/mL.
    Other applications not tested.
Optimal dilutions are dependent on conditions and should be determined by the user.

    Background
DAZL is a member of the DAZ (deleted in azoospermia) family of RNA binding proteins. DAZL is expressed in fetal and adult testes and ovaries, and is believed to play a role in germ cell development. In adult germ cells, the expression of DAZL is localised to the cytoplasm. Mutations in this gene have been linked to severe spermatogenic failure and infertility in males.Synonyms: DAZ homolog, DAZ-like autosomal, DAZH, DAZL, DAZL1, DAZLA, Deleted in azoospermia-like, Deleted in azoospermia-like 1, SPGY-like-autosomal, SPGYLA
