Specificity This antibody recognizes ATG4 Autophagy Related 4 Homolog B (ATG4B).
Purification Protein G Chromatography
Alternative Name APG4B / ATG4B (ATG4B Antibody Abstract)
Background APG4B is a 393 amino acid cysteine protease consisting of the active catalytic triad site of Cys74, His280 and Asp278 and belonging to the peptidase C54 family. It is required for autophagy, which is essential for cell homeostasis and cell remodeling during differentiation, metamorphosis, non-apoptotic cell death and aging. It negatively regulates the localization of LC3 to a membrane compartment by delipidation and mediates murine Atg8L/Apg8L modification during the formation of autophagosomes. APG4B is expressed in the skeletal muscle, brain, heart, liver and pancreas.
Alternate names: AUT-like 1 cysteine endopeptidase, AUTL1, Autophagin-1, Autophagy-related cysteine endopeptidase 1, Autophagy-related protein 4 homolog B, Cysteine protease ATG4B, KIAA0943
