Immunogen Synthetic peptide corresponding to amino acids 31-49 of human UBE2V1a
Specificity This antibody detects UBE2V1 / CROC1. A protein band of approximate mloecular weght of 20 kD can be seen in Jurkat, RAW and HeLa cell lysates. This antibody may also recognize isoform b of UBE2V1. Species Reactivity: Tested: Mouse, Human, Rat
Purification Protein G chromatography
Alternative Name UBE2V1 / CROC1 (UBE2V1 Antibody Abstract)
Background The E2 enzyme, Ubc13, and the E2 enzyme variants, Uevs, form stable, high affinity complexes for the assembly of Lys63-linked ubiquitin chains. This complex has been shown to activate NF-kB signaling pathway by linking TRAF6 to IKKs. Blockade of this polyubiquitin chain synthesis, but not inhibition of the proteasome, prevents the activation of IKK by TRAF6. These results suggest a new regulatory function for ubiquitin, in which IKK is activated through the assembly of Lys63-linked polyubiquitin chains. The UEV proteins are also involved in the control of differentiation.
