- Background
- THETA is a tissue-specific mouse allo-antigen present in the highest concentrations in thymus and brain. Anti-THETA allo-antisera are produced after multiple injections of thymus cell suspensions into hosts differing at the THETA locus, but not at the principal histocompatibility locus (H-2). It is used to differentiate thymus derived lymphocytes from non-thymus derived lymphocytes, and to describe the relative role of each class of cells in various immunological functions.
