Specificity
|
The CA-125 antigen is present on a mucin-like glycoprotein of >200kD. This antibody reacts with an antigen common to most non-mucinous epithelial ovarian carcinomas. Staining is positive in serous and endometrioid adenocarcinomas, Krukenberg's tumour and uterine myoma. Mucinous tumours and normal ovarian epithelium are negative. CA125 is detectable on the apical surface of normal endometrium and endocervix. ImmunohistologyThis product requires antigen retrieval using heat treatment prior to staining of paraffin sections.
