DS-MB-02174 is specific for prostatic acid phosphatase, also known as ACPP. Prostatic acid phosphatase is a major prostate derived protein found in seminal fluid. Prostatic acid phosphatase acts to cleave seminoglein, an important stage in the liquefaction of semen. This protein may be found in increased amounts in men who have prostate cancer or other diseases. DS-MB-02174 stains benign and malignant prostatic epithelial cells in human tissue.
