Additional Information
| Alternative name | Bag-1 |
| UniProt | Q99933 |
| Description | Other names: BAG1, HAP, BAG family molecular chaperone regulator 1, Bcl-2-associated athanogene 1,Glucocorticoid receptor-associated protein RAP46 |
| Characteristics | Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody |
| Specificity | A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues following the repeat 7 of human Bag-1 was used as immunogen. The antibody should recognize all three isoforms of Bag-1 (Bag-1L, Bag-1M and Bag-1S). |
| Molecular Weight | 33 / 46 / 50 kDA |
| Comments |
Background: Members of the Bcl-2 family of proteins play varied stimulatory or inhibitory roles in the regulation of programmed cell death, or apoptosis. One member of this family, Bcl2-Interacting Protein-1 (BAG-1), functions in conjunction with Bcl-2 to inhibit apoptosis (1,2). BAG-1 is a heat shock 70 kDa (Hsp70)- binding protein (3) that is localized to either the cytosol, nucleus or both. |
