Additional Information

Alternative name c-Jun
Gene ID 3725
UniProt P05412
Description Other names: JUN, Transcription factor AP-1, Proto-oncogene c-jun,V-jun avian sarcoma virus 17 oncogene homolog,p39
Characteristics Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody
Specificity A synthetic phospho-peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Serine 63 of human c-Jun was used as immunogen. The antibody only detects c-Jun phosphorylated on Serine 63. Predicted to cross-react with bovine, based on sequence homology.
Molecular Weight 48 kDA
Comments

Background: c-Jun is a component of the transcription factor AP-1 (1). The transcriptional activity of c-Jun is regulated by phosphorylation at serines 63 and 73 (1,2). Extracellular signals, including growth factors, transforming oncoproteins and UV light, stimulate phosphorylation of c-Jun at Ser63/73 and activate c-Jun-dependent transcription (3,4).
