Immunogen A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues on the C-terminus of human PIAS1 was used as an immunogen.
Specificity A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues on the C-terminus of human PIAS1 was used as an immunogen.
Alternative Name PIAS1
Background PIAS1 (protein inhibitor of activated STAT) proteins blocks the DNA binding activity of Stat1 and inhibits Stat1-mediated gene activation in response to cytokine stimulation (1). PIAS1 also plays a crucial role as a transcriptional coregulator in the p53 pathway and the steroid hormone signaling pathway and functions as an E3 type small ubiquitin-like modifier (SUMO) ligas, stabilizing the interaction between UBEZ1 and the substrate, and as a SUMO-tethering factor. It is expressed in numerous tissues with highest level in testes.
Synonyms: PIAS1, DDXBP1, E3 SUMO-protein ligase PIAS1, RNA helicase II-binding protein,DEAD/H box-binding protein 1
Molecular Weight 78 kDA
Gene ID 8554
UniProt O75925
Research Area Ubiquitin-related antibodies, Phospho-specific antibodies, Protein Modifications, Transcription Factors, Signaling, Cell Structure
Application Notes The suggested dilution is: WB: = 1: 1000-10000 , IHC: = 1: 100-250
