Description: CD6, also known as T12, is a member of the scavenger receptor superfamily found on Tand B cell subsets, thymocytes, and acute lymphocytic leukemia cells (ALL). CD6 interactswith its ligand CD166/ALCAM (activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule) and serves as acoreceptor for T cell activation and stabilizer of the immunological synapse. CD6-ALCAMmediated cell adhesion is also important for T cell proliferation. CD6 may exert some itsfunctions via association with CD5, probably by fine-tuning CD5 signaling. Ligation of CD6has antiapoptotic role in chronic lymphocytic leukemia B cells.

Specificity: The MEM-98 antibody reacts with CD6, a 100-130 kDa single chain transmembraneglycoprotein expressed on T and B lymphocytes subsets, thymocytes, and acutelymphocytic leukemia cells.

Application Details

Application Notes: The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis of human blood cells using 20 µl reagent / 100 µl of whole blood or 10 6 cells in a suspension. The content of a vial (2 ml) is sufficient for 100 tests.

Buffer: The reagent is provided in phosphate buffered saline (PBS) containing 15 mM sodium azideand 0.2% (w/v) high-grade protease free Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) as a stabilizing agent.

Storage: Store in the dark at 2-8 o C. Do not freeze. Avoid prolonged exposure to light. Do not use after expiration date stamped on vial label.Short-term exposure to room temperature should not affect the quality of the reagent.However, if reagent is stored under any conditions other than those specified, the conditions must be verified by the user.
