Background: Human blood coagulation factor VII is a 50 kD, vitamin K dependent, plasma glycoprotein synthesized in the liver and secreted into the blood as a single chain zymogen of serine protease factor VIIa. Factor VII participates in a cascade of reactions leading to the coagulation of blood and contains two Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF) domains. This antibody recognizes an epitope in the factor VIIa heavy chain. Factor VII participates in the extrinsic pathway of blood coagulation in an Activated form called factor VIIa.
